Our best seller, the famous and award winning Round Robin is the best way to explore South Devon! You will visit the quaint towns of Paignton, Dartmouth and Totnes travelling on a steam train (c.30 minutes), a river boat (c.90 minutes) and a bus (c.30 minutes). Sit back and enjoy the scenery and we will take care of the rest. This award-winning ticket is a favourite with both young and old. Commentary provided.
Here is a guide to working out the best route for your Round Robin
1 - Choose your departure point (Paignton, Dartmouth, Kingswear, Totnes or Torquay).
2 - Check the sailing times between Dartmouth - totnes (and vice versa)
3 - Work out your preferred connecting train (allow 30 minutes to cross from kingswear - Dartmouth and Vice Versa)
4 - If this doesn't work for you try taking the route the other way round.
The times of the river cruise vary daily due to the tides on the River Dart. Check our availability planner above to work out the best route for you.
The Round Robin Torquay is an extension of the Round Robin as it starts and ends in Torquay. The bus leaves The Strand, (outside Debenhams on the harbourside), at 10:00.
Catch our bus No100 (27th Mar - 30th Sept) from Belgrave Rd at 9.40 (outside Swim Ring newsagents) or The Strand at 10:00 to either Paignton or Totnes (details below). You can do the Round Robin in either direction so…
- a) Get off the bus at Paignton and jump on our steam train to Kingswear, followed by the passenger ferry crossing to enjoy the delights of Dartmouth, river cruise from Dartmouth to Totnes and finally our bus at 15:50 back to Torquay via Paignton OR
- b) Stay on the bus to Totnes, take the cruise from Totnes to Dartmouth, the passenger ferry crossing to Kingswear and the steam train to Paignton. From there it's back to Torquay on our bus at 16:25 (or any No.12 bus until 19:00; only £1 when you show your valid ticket to the driver).
"I've experiencd the Round Robin a few times (visit family in the area quite often) but I had to drop a line to tell you that you surpassed even the usual high standards last weekend. All the staff were happy and helpful and actually seemed to be enjoying themselves (not a false Disney smile in sight) and although the sunny weather helped I could fault nothing of your trip at all."- Dan & Jules, London
