Bay of Lights
On 28th November 2026 to 3rd January 2027 Torquay
The Bay of Lights is a fantastic FREE winter event that lights up the towns of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham across December and into early January each year. Many attractions and towns take part in 'lighting up the Bay' to create a winter wonderland on the English Riviera.
This year's Bay of Lights 1.5mile accessible Illumination Trail will have large light installations, offering stunning digital light shows, fireworks at the harbourside, Christmas music, interactive fun and memory making photographic opportunities. This event gets bigger each year and has fast become one of the major Christmas events in the South West.

- Fantastic trip - Booked this trip beforehand due to current circumstances. Good pricing, beautiful scenery on the journey, easy to get off & get the ferry straight over. Cruise down the river was also lovely.
- All lovely - All done very well. Everything clean (train/boats), staff friendly and commentary on the river cruise added a bit of fun. Really good day out, lots of families. Take hats, drinks and dogs! If you have one.
- Fantastic visit - We chose to do the steam train and river cruise and it was fantastic. The staff were very helpful. After using the ferry to cross the river we went to find somewhere to have a snack before getting onto the cruise. The commentary was brilliant and we were pointed out different landmarks throughout the cruise. Thank you Dartmouth Steam Railway.
