Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta

The Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta is rightly known as the ‘Best in the West’. It does live up to its reputation with great sailing and rowing competitions plus the famous onshore events and entertainment. Thousands of visitors come to Dartmouth every August for a packed programme of sailing, sports, live music, street food, fireworks and more.
The whole week is packed with competitions, family fun events, entertainment, live music - and it’s free to attend!! There is a small charge to enter some competitions, such as the famous Spot the Oddity, but otherwise just come and soak up the wonderful relaxed summer regatta atmosphere.
Here at the Dartmouth Steam Railway, we will be running additional trains on Regatta Saturday, 30th August. Extra trains depart Paignton with a last departure leaving you plenty of time to watch the fireworks and catch the ferry back to Kingswear for your return journey. - Agatha Christie country - The ride on the train is beautiful right along the coast & Dart valley. You can also take your well behaved dog. I would highly recommend this excursion, we go every time that we are in Devon, it is not to be missed.
