Sidmouth Folk Festival Week
On 31st July 2026 to 7th August 2026 Sidmouth Town
The first Sidmouth Folk Festival took place in 1955 and every August since then tens of thousands of visitors have flocked to this beautiful coastal town to sample some wonderfully diverse musical offerings. The festival now extends to a whole week with well known stars, new talent, major concerts and smaller gatherings all jostling for your attention.
The streets and music venues are full of atmosphere and the holidaymakers and locals mingle together throughout the town to create a fantastic summer event mood and character.

- Trip back in time - What a fantastic experience. The train ride from Paignton is a gentle trip with stunning views. Arriving in Kingswear you can almost imagine how people in days gone by must have felt. A short ferry ride takes you into Dartmouth which is a stunning little town.
- Steam train - Great little day out - highly recommended. The boat trip up the dart was very good with the captain guiding us and the steam train was great for kids too.
- Fantastic visit - We chose to do the steam train and river cruise and it was fantastic. The staff were very helpful. After using the ferry to cross the river we went to find somewhere to have a snack before getting onto the cruise. The commentary was brilliant and we were pointed out different landmarks throughout the cruise. Thank you Dartmouth Steam Railway.
