Galmpton drainage

9th August 2021

The drainage run at Galmpton was completed today!

We have a good stream of water coming out of the pipe which we believe is from a spring which the railway cutting has cut though. We are seeing around 500 litres per hour travel though the pipe which previously would have gone straight onto the track - and if that had occurred it would have reduced the life of the track asset.

  • Excellent. Recommended. - Numbers on board restricted due to Covid, but it didn't spoil our enjoyment. The Round Robin three-in-one ticket is a must do if you are in the area.
  • Fantastic trip - Booked this trip beforehand due to current circumstances. Good pricing, beautiful scenery on the journey, easy to get off & get the ferry straight over. Cruise down the river was also lovely.
  • A big thumbs up... - A great time was had by all. The staff were really friendly and great at explaining. We took the steam train then hopped onto the boat where we spent some time in Dartmouth. It's a lovely touch that even the dog gets a ticket. The views from the steam train were so pretty the train and boat were both very clean and comfortable. A big thumbs up from us!
