Maypool Viaduct arches

11th October 2021

An unusual shot here of the eleven arches of the Maypool viaduct. They are 60ft high and the viaduct was built in 1864. Forgive the crop, the image is in portrait format and we needed to crop for this news item. Sorry!

The length of this viaduct is 180 yards.

  • What a great trip! - A lovely time was had on this trip on the train itself and then river boat - we had the river trip on the paddler which was just perfect - a coal fired train and a coal fired boat! Enjoy.
  • Nostalgic day out - Had a great day on the steam railway and paddleboat with my family. Fantastic views during the railway trip and equally excellent views, and commentary, during the river cruise. Well worth the cost, friendly and helpful staff.
  • Charming - We did a round trip from Totnes to Dartmouth. The trip was wonderful with clean comfortable boat, nice staff and excellent commentary (and nice refreshments). On the return we were treated to an extra spin past the two castles at the mouth of the estuary. Marvelous.
