Platinum Jubilee

Bunting, cakes, cucumber sandwiches, cream teas, seemingly never-ending ways to wear a Union Jack, events huge and small, a general groundswell of good-natured celebrating - and a 93yo monarch in a skit with Paddington Bear! - all made for a fantastic weekend of festivities and rejoicing.
Of course, we dressed our stations and platforms at Paignton and Kingswear, plus both locomotives too. The weather wasn't kind on occasion but everyone involved here along with our passengers thoroughly enjoyed it all. Lots of local events to accompany the grand national ones and we reckon we can safely say that a good time was had by all!!

- Lovely trip - The steam railway train is brilliant, the iconic click-clacking of the train was enjoyable to listen to and and the train ride had stunning views. The short ferry was also lovely (only about a minute or two).
- Excellent trip out - On recommendation from our hotel in Torquay we booked this and we were not disappointed. Steam train then ferry over to Dartmouth + a lovely river cruise for an hour included. We will visit again.
