Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta

Here at the Dartmouth Steam Railway, we are running additional trains on Regatta Saturday, 31st August. Extra trains depart Paignton at 18:00, 19:45 and 21:00 with returning trains from Kingswear at 18:40, 20:20 and 22:00. This last departure leaves you plenty of time to watch the fireworks and catch the ferry back to Kingswear for your return journey.

- Perfect day - We have done this several times over the years and is a fantastic day out. The steam train ride is great, but the cruise makes it. The commentary is very good and funny. Would definitely recommend this trip if in the area.
- Trip back in time - What a fantastic experience. The train ride from Paignton is a gentle trip with stunning views. Arriving in Kingswear you can almost imagine how people in days gone by must have felt. A short ferry ride takes you into Dartmouth which is a stunning little town.
- A big thumbs up... - A great time was had by all. The staff were really friendly and great at explaining. We took the steam train then hopped onto the boat where we spent some time in Dartmouth. It's a lovely touch that even the dog gets a ticket. The views from the steam train were so pretty the train and boat were both very clean and comfortable. A big thumbs up from us!
