Refurbished carriage

Following around 15 years use since her last refurbishment, 59503 (called Nina) has been overhauled again and, we're sure you agree, the difference is quite something. The photo to the right shows the before image whilst the after image illustrates the news item. The interior was the focus of this refurbishment with the old interior panelling replaced in new wood on the upper sections whilst the lower sections have been upholstered. The old seating has been removed and replaced with seating similar to that found in a BR Mark 1 carriage.
Passengers have been kind enough to share their thoughts with us and have praised the workmanship involved (all completed in house) and that the style is much improved!!

- Absolutely fabulous experience - The whole day was fabulous with great weather and steam trains. The line is one of the most scenic you will ever experience and is a must visit if in the area. I will definitely be back again :-)
- Chugging along! - The cruise along the River Dart was delightful and the witty commentary was also very informative. The last leg on the steam train was fantastic - chugging along past the beautiful beaches with children waving to you from the sands. Just priceless! We had the most amazing day, the itinerary is done with military precision and is therefore relaxing and exciting - we really loved it. This has got to be a "must do" trip!
- An A+ family experience! - >Excellent time< We arrived at the station to friendly welcome and were greeted by a jolly bloke who gave us an upgrade to a cabin on our own which made us feel like Harry Potter! He gave us lots of info about timings and what amount of time we had been given to allow us to make sure we got back okay. A great time.
