Regrettably we do not have a customer car park at Paignton or Kingswear.
At Paignton there are a number of local car parks to choose from. Just click on the car parks links below for details.
Pay and display car parks
- OUR RECOMMENDATION FOR BEST CONVENIENCE; LONG STAY - Victoria Centre Car Park. (200 spaces open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Height restrictions to the car park do apply. 12 spaces are dedicated for blue badge holders, plus space for motorcycles and an area designated for permit holders).
- LONG STAY - Victoria Square Car Park. An extension, and adjacent, to Victoria Car Park above. (83 spaces open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Spaces for blue badge holders, parents with children, motorcycles and taller vehicles.
- LONG STAY - Hyde Road Car Park. (140 pay and display spaces available 24 hours a day, with dedicated spaces for blue badge holders and motorcycles.)
- LONG STAY - Crown and Anchor (76 spaces, open 24 hours a day, long stay). 10min walk from our station.
- LONG STAY - Roundham (100 spaces, open 8am until 10pm, long stay). 10-15min walk from our station.
- LONG STAY - Station Lane (73 spaces, open 24 hours, long stay)
- LONG STAY - Churchward Road car park, Churchward Road
- UP TO 3hrs - Great Western (70 spaces, open 24 hours a day)
All the above are operated by Torbay Council - weekly car park tickets can be obtained from local Tourist Information Centres.
The only car park at Kingswear is the Darthaven Marina car park (postcode TQ6 0AA) and it is very limited. This car park is privately owned and charges apply.
River Boats & Buses
Dartmouth Embankment (postcode TQ6 9BH). Park and Ride available (postcode TQ6 9LW) - situated at the top of Dartmouth on the A3122 opposite Sainsbury's. There is a short-stay car park in the town centre (postcode TQ6 9NF), (maximum of 3 hours), opposite the Embankment. The town centre car park is owned by South Hams District Council.
Totnes Steamer Quay (postcode TQ9 5AL). There is plenty of all day parking here but the two car parks are owned by South Hams District Council, so charges apply. Check their website for current prices or you can telephone to make payment by card.
Please Note : unfortunately our kiosk staff are unable to supply coinage for car parking.

- Atmospheric steam train - We took the steam train from Paignton to Kingswear and then the ferry to Dartmouth (inc in the ticket). It was a trip back in time and most enjoyable, despite the very rainy weather! Good value for money.
- Agatha Christie country - The ride on the train is beautiful right along the coast & Dart valley. You can also take your well behaved dog. I would highly recommend this excursion, we go every time that we are in Devon, it is not to be missed.
- All lovely - All done very well. Everything clean (train/boats), staff friendly and commentary on the river cruise added a bit of fun. Really good day out, lots of families. Take hats, drinks and dogs! If you have one.
